Initiating Chat with your Visitors
SUMMARY These instructions are to show operators how to initiate chat with visitors on their website The following topics are discussed in this article:
INSTRUCTIONS How to initiate chat when logging in from a web browser Operator Login - Open your web browser to the Operator URL and login with the Operator Username/Password that has been created for you in the admin area.  Monitor Request Window - Once logged in click the Launch Chat Request Monitor Window button. This button will open up another window, which will be used to monitor incoming chat requests.  Traffic Monitor - After the Chat Request Monitor window comes up you will see a traffic monitor tab, refresh rate tab, operators tab and a close tab. Click on the tab labeled Traffic Monitor.  Initiate Chat - From the traffic monitor window you will see the visitors who are currently on your site and each visitor will have a line of green links labeled footprints, transcripts and initiate. Click on the link labeled initiate.
Initiate Chat with Visitor - You should now be on the initiate chat with visitor page. From here you will enter in your initiate chat settings and click submit to start the intiating of chat.
Department: You will specify the department that you wish to initiate chat with the visitor from.
Question: Here you will select which message you would like to send to the visitor, if you want to send the visitor a question that is not listed in the drop down just click on create and a new window will popup for you to create a new initiate chat message.
Initiate Type: There are two ways that you can send a chat request to a visitor, you can select the popup option or the image scroll option:
Pop-up: This option will automatically pop up a chat window on the visitors screen without giving the visitor the option to accept or deny the chat request
Image Scroll: Image Scroll will display an initiate chat image on the visitor's web browser and scroll it acrosss their page, the visitor can then click on the image to accept your chat request or click on "close" to deny your chat request
