Upgrade Instructions
SUMMARY These instructions are for those who want to upgrade their current PHP Live! system to a newer version. This guide only pertains to the PHP Live! downloaded solution. INSTRUCTIONS - Download PHP Live! Upgrade - Login to the Members area and Download the PHP Live! upgrade archive https://www.osicodesinc.com/web/Members. You may see two packages to download. The One labeled UPGRADE is the one you will want to use. The other package is the full version of PHP Live! in case you wish to do a fresh installation.
- Updating Your Core PHP Live! Files
- FTP Method - Create a directory on your computer and unzip the zip file content into that directory. You will now need to upload (ftp) the entire PHP Live! upgrade files right over current files, replacing the old with the new files. Simply ftp the the entire contents of the directory over to your existing PHP Live! system. If asked to "override" or "replace" click "Yes".
- Shell (telnet/ssh) Method - FTP the zip/tar file to your web server and put it INSIDE your existing phplive/ folder. Now telnet/ssh into your server and go to your phplive/ folder and locate the compressed file you just uploaded. Unzip/untar the file. This will override all your existing PHP Live! files to the current new version.
- Upgrade Patches - The next step is to run the upgrade patches. Point your web browser to http://www.domain.com/phplive/setup/patches/
- With each database patch click the Execute Patch button. "YOU MUST RUN THIS PATCH or your PHP Live! system may not function properly or may produce errors".

- Once all of the patches are executed you will receive the message Your PHP Live! system is UP TO DATE. No more patches available. Now all you need to do is login to your setup area and begin using the new features!

- Congratulations! - Your PHP Live! system should now be upgraded. You may now continue using your PHP Live! system.
